The Eurex Bund future
What is Eurex?
The European Exchange (Eurex) is one of the world's largest futures exchanges for financial derivatives (futures and options), created in 1998 from the merger of the DTB (Deutsche Terminbörse) and SOFFEX (Swiss Options and Financial Futures Exchange). The Bund futures contract is the dominant product in Eurex's bond product range.
How important is the Bund Future?
The Bund Future is a cornerstone of European bond trading. It combines enormous liquidity and tight spreads. It is an indispensable instrument for hedging and trading. This futures contract consistently accounts for the largest share of the volume of government bond futures on Eurex.
