  • Forex trading is a commission free type of trading. Brokers derive their revenue from the difference between the bid and the ask price. This difference is called “spread”. The tighter the spread the better.

    De spreads zijn dus variabel. Ze kunnen varieren tussen de kleinste spread en de maximum spread. De spread op EUR/USD, bijvoorbeeld, varieert tussen 1 en 3 pips. Dit is afhankelijk van het tijdstip en de volatiliteit. De meeste forex brokers hebben geen maximum spread. Dit is een groot voordeel van WH SelfInvest.
  • Forex prices are quoted in decimals, e.g. €/$ 1,3105. These decimals are called “pips”. Forex is traded in standard size contract (100.000 of the base currency). Some brokers, like WH SelfInvest, also offer mini size contracts (10.000). One pip is worth 10 (of the base currency) if you trade a standard size contract and 1 if you trade a mini size contract.

  • WH SelfInvest requires a margin of 1% of the contract size to open a position. As such the leverage on a forex trade is 100-1.

    Note : mini contracts, due to their small size, are very suitable if you are exploring forex trading. Even at times of great market fluctuations, losses will be very limited.

  • For the more common forex pairs we can accept electronic orders for up to $ 20.000.000.

  • In order to protect accounts against unsecured debits positions will be closed out when the equity in the account goes below 25% (i.e. ¼) of the margin required to open the position(s). Example : a € 1.000 account buys 1 standard contract. The account loses € 750. Thus the account equity is down to € 250. This is 25% of the € 1.000 margin required. The position will be closed out.

  • The minimum amount required to open a forex account is € 2.500. The account is allowed to go below this minimum when operational.

  • A WH SelfInvest forex account is subjected to Luxembourg banking secrecy. WH SelfInvest has designated Banque de Luxembourg and Bank One - JP Morgan Chase as its depository banks for clients’ forex accounts. Both these institutions have a sterling reputation. Our clients have what is most important … peace of mind.

  • Clients can trade standard size forex contracts and mini size forex contracts from the same account. The mini contracts, due to their small size are perfect for forex trading novices.

  • The account can be funded by money transfer or cash deposit. In both cases this needs to be done into a 'client assets' account with the Banque de Luxembourg here in Luxembourg. The money will be credited automatically to your individual forex account. The funding cost is €5.

  • Transferring money out of the account is straightforward. For security reasons we do not accept transfer instructions via e-mail or internet. Only a signed, written instruction is acceptable. All account holders, if more than one, need to sign the instruction. The instruction needs to contain the following information : name of the receiving bank, BIC/Swift code of the receiving bank, account number, name accountholder, amount and currency. You can fax your transfer instruction to +352 42 25 75 25. Transfer cost is €5 for amounts < € 30.000 and 0,10% (max.€50) for amounts > €30.000. Form.
