WHS FutureStation

Conditional orders (OCO, order cancels other, in jargon) are well know for their use in closing positions. WH SelfInvest, however, likes to be at the forefront for active investor requirements and has adapted them for opening positions. Two or more orders to open positions can be linked.. Once one of them is executed, the others are cacelled.

E.g.: this trader expects the market to make a sharp movement. He is, however, not certain what the direction of this movement will be. In order to make sure he captures the movement he has combined a buy stop with a sell stop. In the case of an upwards movement he will be long. In the case of a downwards movement he will be short.

E.g.: this trader has combined a buy limit with a buy stop. He tries to buy at a low price but, with the buy stop, avoids the risk of not having a position should the market suddenly run up.
